Error log: As the term progresses and you discover errors you make, keep a list of them here and proof for them in subsequent assignments. Make it a practice to look back over these errors and proof for them with each assignment.

Descriptive essay – Set up a phone writing conference to discuss the draft of the descriptive essay that you submitted.

Cause-effect essay – Complete your cause-effect essay this week and turn it in in the link provided. See the handout on Thinking About Cause and Effect. You may post your essay in the discussion link Cause Effect Essay for peer feedback if you wish.

Keep in mind that some topics for the cause effect essay will not require research, such as your career choice. However, some will. For example, you cannot write about the effects of divorce on children simply from your own life experience. You must use outside sources. Please make sure these are quality sources, however.

You may post your essay in the Cause-Effect Peer Review discussion if you wish.

Research Skills

All Internet sources cannot be trusted. (I know this is hard to believe, but it is true, says the instructor sardonically.) This is especially a consideration with scholarly writing, which includes your essays, etc., for college classes. With this in mind, I am asking you to evaluate four assigned Internet sites. Review the information in your textbook about selecting and evaluating sources. Then open the handout link to find a copy of the Evaluating Internet Sources handout and use it as a guide to evaluate the following web sites.
